Is there any settings related to audio buffer in windows 7? In my previous post; I stated that SigmaTel drivers have been replaced by “Intel® High Definition Audio HDMI” driver once uninstalled. Dell ONLY supports Vista 32 bit OS with a driver. Are you stating that you checked for BOTH devices indicated and BOTH devices reported current or corrupt status?

However; build in microphone array does not work at all. Not Sigmatel nor realtek drivers will make my sound stop crackling. It first installs Micorsoft KB835221 only (not the other MS KB). I installed the kb888111xpsp2 and the R153908 from Dell site.

As you suggested I uninstalled both the sound and modem drivers. SigmaTel is out of business – no support there; Dell does not support this model on Windows 7 – they do not care; newest Skype 220.127.116.11 BETA does not address this they say stuff like kernel audio and such.Click to expand...
